Voice-over workshop
Awesomeness... pure awesomeness. XD Oohh... it was so much fun! And very informative, too. :D
Marcy led us off, for the first half of the day. She explained some basic pointers, how commercial voice-overs are handled, how to prepare for them, how to read for them, etc. Then, one-by-one, we each went into the booth to record our own commercial spot. She gave us coaching, and suggestions, and feedback. She was very friendly, and quite fun. :D
After lunch, it was Scott's turn. And, as can be expected, it was a blast. XD He just is so ANIMATED at out there... you never get tired listening to him. *lol* He covered a lot of the same points Marcy did... telling us what to expect from voice-auditions, tips on being a voice actor, a lot of coaching and suggestions on how to expand/liven up our readings.
Then, as before, we each got our own individual character to do an 'audition' for, and had a booth recording session. I ended up reading for Override. XD *snrk!*
Everyone I met there was really friendly, and we all seemed to have a blast at this. :D Everyone did a great job. ^___^
We got a CD of our 'best' recordings, at the end, as well as a few more tips and pointers. It was a long day, but it just seemed to rush by. I had a fantastic time. Loved it! X3

It's not the first time this has been offered, though, and it won't be the last, most likely. Marcy Goldberg is the one who organizes the workshops. I don't know when the next one will be scheduled for. I can ask, though, if you're curious about coming up to one. One of the guys in the workshop, today, actually came up from somewhere around the LA, California area. ^_^
