...or lack thereof. I have to be realistic. There is no way I'll be able to get this finished in time for Anime North. T___T The process I chose for detailing just takes far too long. It LOOKS really nice, so far, but... c.c Time-consuming. Way time-consuming.

Yes, I know... I could have used fabric paint, and been done in a quarter of the time. For some reason, though, I just didn't want to go that route. ^^; I feared that the fabric paint would be too stiff, and/or crack/fracture on the fabric... and it wouldn't look as nice. And, also... in some way... I felt beading would somehow be a little more 'accurate/traditional' for an outfit like the Alma-Kinan have. ^^;

But it's taking a heckuva long time. @_x; I CAN bring what I've got done so far with me, to show who's interested... but it won't be done. ^^;;

Which also brings up the question, what costume do I bring to AN? o_O; I think the only one(s) I actually have that's possible is Billy Lee Black. ^^; At least that's a very easy, comfortable costume. ^^;

On that beading, are you trying to single-stitch each bead or are you using the 'lazy squaw' method?

Lazy squaw is where you thread up a long string of beads, lay them against the fabric, then loop a second thread across the first one, stitching down the actual thread about every fourth bead or so. That way, you're actually tacking the beadstring onto your work. It goes a lot faster that way.

hm.... never heard of that method. It would make things faster. ^^;; What I'm doing is stringing two beads at once, actually. ^^;; Makes it a little faster. ^^;; (I fear the 'lazy squaw' might make the strings of beads a bit too loose on the fabric)

And anyway, now that I KNOW I won't have this done by AN... there's no rush and I can take my time with it. XD *lol*

Lazy squaw can make for a loose string, but if you tack down at about every fourth or fifth bead, it'll hold up pretty well, especially if you make sure to keep the bead string nice and tight.

When I'm doing lazy squaw, I also like to actually stitch in with the bead string every so often, depending on how long of a run of beads I'm doing. Wish I hadn't sold my last piece last year or I'd take a picture for you.

But keep going on this one... just think, you'll have it done in time for NEXT year!

XD You don't have to do that. I quite enjoy making my own costumes. And this will DEFINATELY be ready by then. @_x
