Meme! Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] dev_chieftain

Here's a little meme for anyone who feels like wasting time. The deal is that I put together a playlist of all my music, chose the first twenty, and wrote down the first line of each song. You get to guess what the songs are! :D

Okay... went into all my MP3 files and added ALL the English-lyrical songs I had.... hoo boy. Were there a ton. @_x;; Put it on random play... and jotted down the first line of the first twenty... ^.^;; (if the song was TOO obvious, though, or I got a repeat [I have some of the same songs by different artists ^^;], or I couldn't tell WHAT the singer was saying... I switched it... I mean, there has to be some challenge, right? ^_~;; I had to skip a lot of my Christmas songs... they say the title in the first sentance. T_T) ....It's probably a rather ecclectic kinda mix... :/

1) Well we got no choice... all the girls and boys
2) Turn around, look at what you see
3) If they were to write about the story of my life... they would have to mention you with every page they'd write
4) Dance your cares away... worries for another day
5) last fire will raise... behind those eyes
6) And I'd give up forever to touch you, cuz I know that you feel me somehow
7) You're doin' fine, most of the time, you sit and wonder what tomorrow brings... all kinds of things...
8) So no one told you life was gonna be this way
9) Where have all the good men gone and where are all the gods
10) Please come now I think I'm fallin'... I'm holdin' onto what I think is safe
11) Come, they told me (pa-rum-pa-pum-pum) (I'm giving this one away! XD)
12) I said 'hello, I think I'm broken'
13) It won't be easy, you'll think it's strange when I try to explain how I feel
14) One foot on the brake, and one on the gas
15) Lost in a dream -- I don't know which way to go.
16) The wind blows hard against this mountainside, setting my feet upon the road
17) Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say throw cares away
18) New York, New York, is everything they say... and no place that I'd rather be
19) Said the night wind to the little lamb... (givin' it away again, most likely... XD ^.^;;)
20) I'm so high, I can hear heaven

Oh yes, and 19 is Heart of Rock and Roll...I'm not sure who that's by either. Is it Huey Lewis and The News?

*bing bing bing!* :D

You're right on 2, 9, 11 and 18... :D "Holding Out For a Hero" was orginally done by Bonnie Tyler (and recently covered by Jennifer Saunders). And "Heart of Rock and Roll" is done by Huey Lewis and the News. :3 *claps*

er... one more correction, on my part. You're probably right on 8 as well.. ^^;; That's probably the REAL title of it. Again, I just grabbed some songs randomly, not knowing some of the artists.... ^_^;;;; *ducks head sheepishly*

You're right on all except 10... though you have the correct singer/group! :3 (It might be the right song... :/ If I have the wrong title for the song...)

Nope, as far as I know that's the name of the song:

Ahh.... that IS it, then. My file is listed as "Six Feet From the Edge"... but that's definately the song. So *bing bing bing* You are CORRECT!! :D

16) Mr. Mister - "Kyrie Eleison" (I *love* that song.)
18) Huey Lewis - "Heart of Rock 'n' Roll" (is still beatin'!)
20) Chad Kroeger - "Hero" (first Spider-man movie soundtrack, I think)

Correct! :D (I love that song, too... ^^ Thanks for sending it to me. :3) I thought it was Nickelback that sung 'Hero'... guess that's something else I got wrong. @_x;

Actually, Chad Kroeger is the lead singer of Nickelback...so yeah. XD I don't think he performed the song with the rest of the band, though, hence just being credited alone on the soundtrack.

Oh. Ah.... Heh.... ^^;; Goes to show you what I know... ^_^;;;

It's Chad Kroeger, yes.. and it's also Josey Scott from Saliva (I think that's his name). Kroeger sings the first verse, Scott the second, then they harmonize the rest of it.

Isn't 6 Iris? That song from City of Angels? I'd like to say it's by the Goo Goo Dolls, but I'm not 100% certain on that. ^^;

I haven't seen that movie, but you are correct. :D "Iris", by the Goo Goo Dolls. :3

I only caught the tail end of the movie myself, but I remember back in the day the radio station played it constantly in tandem with the movie's release. The bit 'it' song of the hour.
I only recognized it because the flow of the words held the same rhythm of the song's beat.

1. Alice Cooper, "School's Out" (yay!)
6. Goo Goo Dolls, "Iris" (I'll give it to sakata, but I knew it long before it was in a movie, heh)
13. Andrew Lloyd Webber (since so many have done it), "Don't Cry For Me Argentina"
14. Sammy Hagar, "I Can't Drive 55" (yay!)

Came in too late to get credit for knowing more. :p

"long before it was in a movie"...

History's making me second-guess myself... I think it was radio play before the soundtrack came out. Since it didn't show up on one of thier own albums until after that. Oh well. :)
