Spoiler-free quick review
May. 5th, 2008 06:58 pmWent to go see Iron Man today, and loved it! Very entertaining and fun... Robert Downey Jr. did a great job as Tony Stark/Iron Man... and the rest of the ensemble cast was good, too. ^_^ I never really followed the comics (and I've heard the nightmare stories about how much of a train-wreck "Civil War" is, though I'd be more inclined to put that down as bad writing -- villifying one side, rather than the writing taking a more neutral stance, or even showing positives and negatives to both sides of the conflict, but ah well...), and I never really followed the cartoon series... but dangit... this movie made me LIKE Tony Stark. :3 (that he's esay on the eyes, too, helps. xD) I might even go see it again, at some point.
So many great films out this summer. Indiana Jones, Batman, Wall-E, Speed Racer, Chronicles of Narnia... I wasn't planning on going to see the Hulk movie, but the trailer actually made the re-boot of the story look interesting. A couple screwball/wacky comedies are coming out, too. (If I remember the titles right) The Love Guru is the new comedy from Mike Meyers... just... offbeat, quirkiness that looks amusing. ^^; And while I don't generally go for his movies, or those sorts of comedies, but Adam Sandlers "You Don't Mess With the Zohan" actually looks like it might be amusing. In a sort of "Naked Gun" way, perhaps. I dunno. At least the premise is quirky enough. It might be a pass, though. Cheap theater/Tuesday, indeed. ^^; But all those listed at the very start of this paragraph.... OH yeah. Not missing those. X3
((with all these, and the up-coming Animated toys, and the odd DVD... oy. Gonna burn a hole in my wallet. ^_^;;; ))
