Good and Bad (well, annoying, at least)
Jan. 20th, 2006 09:03 pmIKEA rocks. X3 It's really cool to just wander around and look at everything, but I had specific items, and brands, in mind when Mom and I went there after work today. Picked up a beautiful bookcase (that's a duplicate of one I already have X3), as well as a smaller set of shelves for my DVDs. Mom picked up a nice set of low shelves herself, to replace a rickety, wobbly old thing. So good shopping all around. :3
On the "GF lagging" issue... figured out what the problem was. True, a more modern/up-to-date computer would help me watch the files easier, but it boils down to one of two things...
Home Comp:
running Windows 98, with a 7.82 Gig hard drive (6.79 Gigs of which are currently used)... an Intel (MMX) Pentium II processor (which
straya estimates is about 400 - 600 Hz), and 512.0 MB RAM. So, for my home comp... it's the processor that's what's slowing me down.
Work Comp:
running Windows XP (version 2002), with a 19 Gig hard drive (6.3 Gigs used), Intel Celeron CPU (1000 MHz), and 120 MB RAM. That's why the work comp is so friggin' slow! X( Gweh! On top of that, it has issues with the Zip drive, sometimes... and I wasn't able to run end-of-day today, cuz it decided to reject the disc. No problems with the disc LAST week... Rotten fragger. XP So I'm gonna have to call tech support EARLY tomorrow, hoping they're working tomorrow... so I can run end-of-day and all. Bleh.
