My 2 cents...

uftaki...on the 2010 Mascots.
While I agree with some people that the plush mascots should have been made here in Canada, if that option had been possible... I think they're ADORABLE! X3
To all the people complaining that they're just "to make money" (in politer terms)... well... DUH! :P Cuteness is a definate factor in making things appealing. If you look at MOST mascots of all the Olympics, over the years, most of them have been "cute" in one way or another. Hard to promote stuff with an unappealing mascot. :/ Do you think that all the mascots of all the previous Olympics haven't been designed with the concept of selling stuff?
I also think they do represent B.C., to varying degrees. Quatchi's a sasquatch -- that's an old legend of B.C. (and the Pacific Northwest as a whole). Sumi has the wings of a Thunderbird -- another old B.C. legendary creature. The Thunderbird name definately has been used in Vancouver for a while, now... (UBC Thunderbirds, anyone?). And Miga combines both the Orca and the Kermode/Spirit Bear that everyone wanted (rather than have 2 separate mascots for each animal). And MukMuk's definately a B.C. critter. ^_^
I guess some people just love complaining or something. :/ Ah well. I try not to listen to the "critics" too much, anyway. I like them, and that's good enough for me... *chuckles*
