(no subject)

Went to see Batman Begins today... Whoot! Good movie. X3 I love the whole 'backstory/origins' bit. :3 Yeah, sure, there was a bit of continuity error with the end of the film, and the start of the first film, but heck... it's minor, and who really cares 'bout that. XD All in all, the film was great. :D Good action, good acting... The guy who played Batman was great (Christian Bale, correct? o.o; c_c;)... Alfred rocks, as always... X3 And a cool look at Gordon, as well!! :D And of course Morgan Freeman was always great in his role. X3

Might/might not go to see War of the Worlds... :/ From what I heard, it's dark, gritty and all... close to the original book. Really more of a horror film. I'll only go watch it if I go with a group of friends... o_o; Movies I am really looking forward to seeing when they come out are The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Fantastic Four. I might even give Chicken Little a whirl, if I'm in the mood for light-stuff like that. XD ^.^;

In other, unrelated news... making good progress on my special little fan art project. :3 It's shaping up quite well. Of course, I'm REALLY hitting the complex, challenging parts now... :/ Ah well. I'll keep plugging away at it, trial and error and all... and hopefully it'll be completed how I envisioned it. ^_^;

No continuity error--it's a new series. It doesn't have to match with the Burton-Shumacher films.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-06-30 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh... wasn't aware it was a new series. It really didn't have to match anyway, but still cool to know that y' don't have to worry 'bout continuity errors and all.

Hmm... does this mean there'll be new sequels branching off of this, then? :3

[identity profile] blackjackrocket.livejournal.com 2005-06-30 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Darn right. They're trying to cast the Joker right now.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-06-30 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully they can get Jack Nichelson again. I've only seen bits of the 1st movie, but from what I heard, he did a pretty good job as the Joker... :/

[identity profile] blackjackrocket.livejournal.com 2005-06-30 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I thought he wasn't very good at it. He was too formal, and the Joker is anything but. His moments of 'spontaniety' always seemed too forced.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-06-30 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... perhaps. Like I said, I've only seen bits and pieces of the first movie, never a full showing, so... what do I know? :/ You're right, though; the Joker is spontenaity personified (and insanity, too ^^;)

I wonder if the guy who did his voice in the animated series is a live action actor...? :/ ^^;

[identity profile] blackjackrocket.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Actually yes, and he had one of the most famous movie roles EVER. *coughLukeSkywalkercough*

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. o___o *blushSWEAT* Goes to show how much *I* really know about the series and all.... >.<;; *goes to hide under a rock, now!*

((really... I couldn't tell by the voice. Then again, I'm not really good at stuff like that... c_c;;;;))

[identity profile] blackjackrocket.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
The voice is tricky. He used his real voice waaay in the beginning of the series, though (I think the character's name was Ferris Boyle).

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
XD XD ^^; I'm really only a casual fan of the Batman series... ^^; But hey! Learned something today. ^.^

Still think the animated series, and the new movie were really cool. :D Look forward to these new sequels. :3

Oooh, I want to see War and Fantastic Four, too. ^^ Now I'm curious about Batman, it seems that most of my flist has given it the stamp of approval.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-03 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, if our time tables don't conflict somehow, we can manage to get together to chat, and take in one of those movies... XD

Batman was pretty good. :) Sure, there were a few spots that made you wince a little, but they weren't many at all, and on the whole it was a very good movie... :D

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-03 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* True enough. I can do an evening movie on most weekdays now, as long as it finishes with enough time for me to get back from downtown. Does that suit?

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Suits me fine. :D It's light enough now, long into the evening, for things not to be too much of a problem. X3

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-04 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, my class is Tues nights, but I'm free Mon and Wed-Fri. I can be downtown by, hrm, around 6.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-04 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
hm... Thursday wouldn't be good, as I have to be up early to go to work Friday. ^.^;; This Monday might be a bit too early/short notice, but... Next Monday, maybe? O_o

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-04 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Mon is good, or Wed. ^^

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Monday's probably good... :) Next Monday, or next Wednesday. :D We could meet downtown, then... sometime around 6? Where should we meet? In front of the theater? (the Capitol 6?)

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
There's Capitol 6, or also there's Paramount Vancouver (the new Famous Players on Burrard). Really depends on what you want to see, but the Famous one would be good for anything requiring nice sound quality and/or special effects. There's of course, always Tinseltown . . . but yeah, really depends on what we're seeing. ^^

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh... I've passed by that new one. Never been to it. Might be cool to go see something there. :D

Depending on how early we can both actually make it downtown, we can look about to see what's playing where, and what we want to see. ^_^

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very pretty. And very clean. XDDD

Well there are usually movies showing at 7:00, aren't there?

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If we wait 'till Friday, we can just check online for what's playing where, and when... XD

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, sounds good. XDDD Oooh, I wonder when Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming out.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-05 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
18th, or something 'round there. I really want to see that one. X3

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. *_* Have you seen Mr and Mrs Smith yet? I wanna see that too, before it gets out of theatres.

[identity profile] uftaki.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
No, I haven't seen that... Not one I particularly want to see, actually... ^.^;

[identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com 2005-07-06 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, ok. XDDD Umm, what do you want to see then?
