In addition to the big news I'm highly anticipating that I posted here in my previous entry..., there's now a 5-page preview available here. :3 Heh... definately looking interesting so far. ^_^ The art style looks nice, and it's going to be interesting to find out the all the WHYs that led the characters to the paths they took that led them to the start of this series.

There will also be a 4-issue Ducktales mini-series - starting in Uncle Scrooge #392 - that will be released around the same time (in June)!! :D From the article here, this ALSO looks very interesting!! :D I'm thrilled beyond belief! xD I've always loved Ducktales, so it's so cool to see it coming back, if even for a short time. :3

It's still a couple months away, but it looks like some sweet stuff is coming in. Not like everything ELSE so far hasn't been fantastic. XD

comicnewsi.com/article.php?catid=208&itemid=9350

The Megatron: Origin sounds interesting. I'm not a big time Con fan by far... but I still love a good backstory. :3

What had me going "OOOOOOOHHHHH......!" with sparly eyes, though, was the Transformers: The Ark—A Complete Compendium of Transformers Animation Models. whoa... The animation model sheets! *__* Apparantly, over 500 of 'em! Black-and-white, and 208 pages, so obviously, more than one model sheet per page... Who's to say what this will actually look like, but from an artistic standpoint.... whoot! No more scouring though hundreds of screencaps to finally get a ref. of a character's back! (we hope. ^_^;)

And if this happens to be COMPLETELY old news.... feel free to ignore me... c__c;

Passing on a link to a very amusing webcomic/doujinshi. It's mainly Powerpuff Girls based, with a HEAVY does of Dexter's Lab, too... from what I've read so far. But it's throwing practically every Cartoon Network show in here, somehow. Invader Zim, Samurai Jack, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Fairly Oddparents... it's like a cross-over gone insane. XD It's also done in a very stylized, anime-ish style -- characters are more 'bishonen/bishojo' than their original designs. It works quite well, actually; it looks VERY polished! It has a more serious/darker cast to the overall story, but it definately has it's humorous parts, too.

Power Puff Girls Doujinshi

Worth a glance, at least. ^^;

edit:

And just yanked this off [livejournal.com profile] theladyphoenix's journal... A new video from a group called "OK Go"... 4 guys dancing on 8 treadmills.... it's hilarious. XD AND impressive! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI

Picked up TF #4 today... I'm loving this so far. Started off slow, but it's starting to pick up the pace, now!! *_* ... And I always seem to be getting the covers done by Guido Guidi... ^.^; Issue 0 was E.J. Sue's cover, but since then... they've all been Guido's covers. ^_^;; .... and hey, [livejournal.com profile] straya...? Your letter was printed! XD

On FY:Genbu Kaiden... really enjoying this, too. It's neat to see the "first" story of the 'Four Gods'... and the characters are really engaging. :3 Takiko is a neat character, Tomite's amusing. xD Hatsui... hah... cute. XD And Namame... *_* OMG CUTE! Really cool, too.... (I admit I'm a little biased, or at least was looking/anticipating in seeing who Namame was... as I took a "which constellation were you born under" thing a while back... and I apparantly was born in "Namame", so.... Heh. Nowhere NEAR anything I anticipated... but way cool... :D)

I have Transformers issue 0 by IDW in my hot little hands right now... X3 And so far, right now... I'll say things are looking good. :D It's just a teaser taste, but... *grins* Grabbed the cover with the four Autobots on the cover, of course. ^_~

Just finished reading Basara vol. 13 (will be reading vol. 14 tomorrow) OMG. *_* I love this series. Love it. Fruits Basket is great, sweet and adorable... Hikaru no Go and Fullmetal Alchemist are engaging, funny, interesting... I still enjoy Fushigi Yuugi, and am looking forward to the Genbu Kaiden... and many other series, but.... Basara. OMG. Love it. Drama, tension, humor, plot, characterization.... such deep, rich characters, plot... This manga makes me laugh, makes me WEEP... keeps me on the edge of my seat, rooting for all the characters... hoping they survive... that despite all the terrible cruelties, the harsh realities that they face... that a "good ending" can still come of it all. It's dark, bleak, desperate at times... but hope still survives. The 'good guys' struggling so valiantly against such odds... the 'bad guys' not quite SO bad... so MANY levels of grey in this comic (metaphorically speaking).

Yes, it's an older story. Yes, the art style is VERY loose and sketchy, and certainly not "polished" by any means. But the art style works for this story. And the story rules. *__* So deep, so rich, so dramatic... Yes, I gush...

The manga might not be for everyone, but..... oy. Highly reccommended. HIGHLY. Pick it up if you can... even if it's the first three or so volumes. If you can find the anime, that covers up to vol. 3, I believe (don't quote me on it). Anyway. Rent, or whatever... gives you a bit of the taste, if you don't want to buy the manga right off. Maybe borrow it from a friend. But try it. It's a wonderful series.
